I feel emotionally passionate about the subjects I paint. I was raised in the mining towns of Whitepine County, Nevada. For me, painting the old pottery, old houses, Mail Pouch barns, shacks, and cars is a way of preserving the past on canvas and paper.

The design on this beautiful tray caught my eye right away. It's twining weaving technique made me wonder about the person who created it. Did they place red chilies on it, or corn?
